Throne & Altar is a ruleset designed for playing large-scale Napoleonic battles on reasonable table sizes and within reasonable playing times. It places you in the role of a Corps or Army commander handling multiple divisions over a battlefield miles across, with the personal traits, strengths and foibles of individual generals playing a crucial role in the outcomes.
On initial release, scenarios are available for battles ranging across the full span of years of Napoleon's emperorship. More will be released later, along with rules and maps for entire campaigns across the width of Europe.
Each battle is unique and historical - they are not "tactical problems", presented as an abstract puzzle, but real engagements that occurred two centuries ago, and shaped the future of Europe and the world.
